Interim Event Manager
As our Event Manager, you will be responsible for all events that we participate in. Most events are marathon, cycling or triathlon races that we either sponsor or attend as expo exhibitors.
The responsibilities include planification, leadership and coordination of commercial and marketing events from start to finish. You will be in charge of coordinating and liaising with sales, marketing, finance and other internal teams to agree on overall rollout, goals and key executions. The position is part of the marketing team and reports to our Head of Global Marketing.
Since our Event Manager is going on parental leave, we are looking for someone who can join our team as soon as possible and work with us on an interim basis until October 2024.
Tasks include:
- Collaborate with event organizers to obtain event terms and conditions, while adhering to Maurten's internal event guidelines.
- Develop and manage event budgets, invoicing, and logistics, ensuring overall compliance.
- Engage in negotiations with vendors and suppliers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accurate, and timely services.
- Define event team members, assign responsibilities, and establish a streamlined follow-up process to ensure the timely execution of the agreed-upon event strategy.
- Select and oversee the on-site team, providing pre-event education and detailed briefings to each team member.
- Coordinate the setup and dismantling of event venue stands in collaboration with third-party entities.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and prepare comprehensive debrief reports to enhance future event planning.
Who are you?
We believe that you are someone who excels in organizational skills and demonstrates a strong sense of structure. You pay close attention to detail, have an analytical mindset, and are able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. You have a keen eye for identifying areas of improvement and implement effective solutions. Cooperation and teamwork come naturally to you and you possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
We expect you to have previous experience from similar or related positions. The role requires a high level of traveling, at least 10 weeks per year.
The position is based at our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden, and a valid work permit is required.
