About the position
As a part-time accountant, you will support our accounting team with daily bookkeeping tasks, reconciliations, invoice handling, and preparation for monthly and year-end closings. You will work closely with the whole accounting team and receive guidance and training where needed. The role offers flexible hours that can be adjusted to your study schedule, with increased availability during peak periods. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional finance environment.
The position is based in Gothenburg, Sweden, and reports to the Head of Global Accounting.
Job responsibilities
- Track and record internal and external transactions in assigned entities.
- Process vendor invoices and create new vendors in assigned entities.
- Reconcile bank and accounts payable in assigned entities.
- Ensure timely outgoing bank payments in assigned entities.
- Complete monthly and annual closing activities in a timely fashion.
- Assist AR specialist with monitoring and tracking outstanding customer balances, proactively following up on overdue payments
- Respond to customers’ inquiries regarding invoices, payment terms, and account status.
- Respond to vendors’ inquiries regarding invoices, payment terms, and account status.
- Ad-hoc bookkeeping and reports.

You are a motivated and detail-oriented student with a strong interest in accounting and finance. You enjoy working with numbers, learning new systems, and taking responsibility for your tasks. Flexibility is important to you, and you appreciate the opportunity to combine your studies with practical experience. You are curious, structured, and not afraid to ask questions to ensure high-quality work.
- Currently studying accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Strong basic knowledge of Swedish accounting principles (K3) and financial terminology.
- Ability to work flexibly, including increased availability during year-end closing periods.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail, with a proactive and structured approach to tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to ask questions when needed.
- Reliable, service-minded, and eager to learn and grow within the role.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications.
- Highly proficient in Swedish and English (spoken and written).
This is a part time position and we expect you to be available 8-12 hours per week, with the possibility to work more during peak seasons.
