About the position

The Financial Controller plays a key role in contributing to the development of financial analysis, planning, and process efficiency across the organization. Core responsibilities include monitoring and optimizing key financial metrics such as revenue, gross margin, profitability, working capital, and cash flow. The role is instrumental in developing scalable and efficient financial processes, with a focus on Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, and Record to Report workflows.

As a Finance representative in cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives, the Financial Controller ensures sound financial setup, including correct VAT treatment, accounting flows, and regulatory compliance. The role also oversees the maintenance and development of ERP financial master data structures, such as cost center hierarchies and account setups.

Working closely with the Senior Financial Controller, the position supports the development of tools, models, and dashboards to enhance financial analysis, reporting, and planning for the Maurten group. This position is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Job responsibilities

• Perform monthly analysis and reporting of revenue, gross margin, profit, working capital, and cash flow; provide insights, variance analysis, and performance follow-up against budget and forecast.
• Participate in and coordinate activities of the forecasting and annual planning processes, with sales, profit, cash flow focus.
• Maintain and update ERP financial master data and administer financial tools as required.
• Develop and implement processes to ensure correct VAT treatment, including for barter deals and new market requirements.
• Act as finance representative in cross-functional projects, such as launching new marketplaces or implementing new revenue models.
• Establish routines for tracking fixed assets, including accounting treatment of pending patents.

The ideal candidate is a skilled and driven finance professional with a strong foundation in accounting and financial analysis, combined with a proactive mindset and collaborative spirit. They are motivated by continuous learning, operational efficiency, and creating business value through data and insights.

• 3+ years of relevant experience in finance and accounting
• Bachelor’s degree or above in business administration, finance, accounting or related field
• Solid understanding of group accounting principles, VAT and financial reporting
• Proven track record of ensuring financial controls and compliance
• Ability to analyze and interpret P&L, Balance Sheet, Working Capital, and Cash Flow
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office tools
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Familiarity with Power BI dashboards and data visualization
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
